Your MP's Voting Power

The link below will take you to an index page on the main ProFirst website. There you can search for your own MP from the alphabetic index which shows the surnames of the first and last MPs listed on each page. Click "View" against the page you want to see.

This will show you what voting power your MP would have in the House under the ProFirst system. You would still have the same MP as you do under the present system, but their vote would be proportional to the share of the local vote they themselves got, scaled up or down to reflect how popular their party was in the part of the UK (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales) where your constituency is.

If you voted in the 2010 General Election, but did not vote for the candidate who was elected "First Past The Post" in your constituency, then under ProFirst your MP would no longer be able to - in effect - use your vote. Your vote will instead have been added-in as part of the total vote that all MPs of your preferred party in your part of the UK can use in Parliament.
